It’s unbelievable that I have not blogged for over two years, I’m amazed at how time flies! The studio is still keeping me busy, but I have found another purpose too, one that is very near and dear to my heart. I have become an advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities! I have found myself working with individuals directly, as well as with other parents; I have even been involved with the state legislature in regards to disability rights. I have also been assisting my son direct and produce fan films and his own original production.
In addition to the above, I have also been involved in an animal rescue, Poplar Springs, which is based in Poolesville, MD. There I, and my studio, have supported a pig named Scooter, and the sanctuary’s events.
Although I have been keeping busy, doing hair is my art! I have joined and completed multiple hair classes in person, and more recently, on the web. I have been in the hair industry since I was 15 yrs old, and let me tell you, I love it! Being a hairstylist makes me happy, and brings joy to my life. Helping people is my passion, so assisting others in feeling and looking good gives me comfort and enjoyment.
I know that these past few months have been difficult for everyone, and I cannot wait to open my studio’s doors again, greet my clients, and continue doing hair! I have been making the studio a safe place for clients as well as myself. Welcome back! i can’t wait to see you …ONE AT A TIME!
